Four Victims Wounded at Howe Community Park — Large Unauthorized Party Ends in Shooting
Late Saturday evening, an unapproved gathering of a large crowd at the Howe Park area in Sacramento's Arden-Arcade area turned violent when 20 to 25 gunshots were discharged as Sacramento County law enforcement were in the process of clearing the area.
How Events Unfolded
Around 6:30 in the evening, the SCSO was notified involving persons reportedly carrying concealed firearms at Howe Park. A follow-up call described a potential fight and individuals fleeing the scene.
An airship was utilized and scanned the park but found no evidence of any active disturbance.
At the same time, an estimated several hundred attendees had congregated at Howe Park for what the sheriff's office identified as an unlawful gathering. Responding deputies positioned themselves around the park, activated emergency lights, and used roughly 15 minutes announcing over loudspeakers for people to leave over their vehicle speakers.
As deputies were in the process of dispersing attendees, 20 to 25 rounds of gunfire echoed through the area — causing hundreds to flee in all directions at once.
Those Injured
Four gunshot here victims — one woman and three male victims, all in their 20s — were brought to area medical facilities. Two victims had injuries classified as immediate, one suffered moderate injuries, and one had minor injuries. All four were listed as stable. The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department responded and assisted with triage on scene.
What Was Found at the Scene
Gunfire originated from the Cottage Way side side of the park near the Home Depot store at the 2200 block of Howe Ave. The Home Depot store was Arden Arcade Sacramento crime 2026 temporarily locked down. According to scanner audio, it was established that more info a suspect car — described as a Kia vehicle — was intercepted in Solano County with four individuals detained. Sheriff's deputies were heading to Solano County to pick up the suspects and transport them back to Sacramento County. Surveillance footage confirmed two shooters were involved.
